I've been meaning to animate the 2011 version of my Prinny sprite for a long time, and finally got started last week. However I spent much time animating the pouch and when I was near done, I realized the animation didn't make any sense so I remade the pouch animation completely and only used 3 different frames for the new version, which still manages to look better. Anyway, this was really really complicated to animate and I'm glad to finally have at least one presentable animation ready.
Because it's a fairly boring animation, I'd assume. If I had added some variation besides the blinking, this would probably be a bit more well-received.
It took you an entire week to animate this from scratch? For the wings, do you use some sort of program to tilt them, or do you have to resprite every frame?
I started spriting the frames and then took a one-week break before finishing it. And yes I used Rotsprite to rotate the wing then cleaned up the resulting frames so they would look as smooth as the rest. Same with the beak, and while doing it this way saved me quite a bit of time, it was still challenging, as I had to reposition parts multiple times so they would animate well.
